If West Virginia is to determine the next election, then there is something seriously wrong with this country:
Like most people in Mingo County, West Virginia, Leonard Simpson is a lifelong Democrat. But given a choice between Barack Obama and John McCain in November, the 67-year-old retired coalminer would vote Republican.
“I heard that Obama is a Muslim and his wife’s an atheist,” said Mr Simpson, drawing on a cigarette outside the fire station in Williamson, a coalmining town of 3,400 people surrounded by lush wooded hillsides.
If people can't even do some basic research into the fundamentals of the different candidates, then we're all screwed. If you want to vote for a Republican, then do so if you know about the candidate. And if you want to vote for a Democrat, then read up on what they are saying. But if you're just going to go off of the wrong statements that the other ignorant people around you say, then please please please just stay home on election day.
Maybe our founding fathers were right when they said that the general population was too dumb to vote?
Today is Super Tuesday here in the U.S., and depending on where you live, today may be your day to vote.
Bloggers in China are being arrested for what they blog about. Here in the United States, we have freedoms, and voting is one of those freedoms. Anyone who does not vote, does not deserve those freedoms.

My wife and I were on the bus heading out to a really good dim sum place. We were in the back, on one of the sideways-facing benches. I had my hand on her leg. This is sortof a habit, and it was nothing provocative, sexual, or otherwise "dirty." There were only a few other people around, and we were just talking. What else do you do on the bus?
Then, this man in the back row yells out "Hey! Hey you!" and we look back and sure enough, he's pointing at me. "What are you doing with your hand between her legs?!?" At this point we could tell he was drunk. He didn't look homeless though, despite his behavior. And he was old, old enough to be my father. "Is that your girlfriend? Wife? What are you doing, young man, this is a public bus?" Of course, by now we're thoroughly embarrassed. But then his tone changed. Apparently he was doing it just to be funny, and not to actually punish us for our oh-so-lewd behavior in public. Or rather, he was punishing us, but all in the name of a big embarrassing joke. He starts laughing, and winking at me in that sortof guy-to-guy you're-gonna-get-some kindof wink.
Next, he offers us a drink. He lifts up his bottle of half-empty whiskey so that we can see it, and to offer us some. This was no "single serving" bottle either, you could have served an entire bar with a bottle that big. And he's already consumed half of it. It was about 10:30am.
He then goes on about how he's married, too, and how he used to put his hands between his wife's legs. "Does she like it?" he asks me. Then, "do you like it?" he asks to my wife. Oh god, please let us arrive at the dim sum place soon. We were trying to ignore him, but it wasn't working. "Hoochee hoochee hoochee!" "Go home and have fun with her!" "Put your hand back, I don't mind." He just wouldn't stop. I had long ago removed my hand, and now my wife was sitting a few seats over.
Finally! Dim sum never tasted so good.

Hmmm.. that's a tough question. I'm not sure if I'm going to make it to 10, but let's try. And I'm sure a bunch of people have done some of these things, anyway.
- Ran a marathon
- Been asked to smuggle illegal items across a foreign border
- Driven faster than 115 mph (on a normal road in a normal car)
- Held a higher than top secret security clearance
- Been on a train that derailed
- Rode my bike to work (25 miles)
- Had a leech stuck to me
- Been pulled over by 6 cop cars, told to spread out on the trunk while they frisked me (mistaken identity)
- Had a deserted island all to myself (well, my wife was there, too)
- Witnessed 2 inches of rain in Death Valley
